Couples already pay to capture their story: UK couples spend about £2,269 staging a proposal — more than the £1,588 ring — with roughly £698 going to professional photographers, and 49% say social media shaped their proposal. Travel supplies the volume: 1.52 billion international arrivals in 2025 and more than 8 million foreign leisure passengers into Athens alone.
LuxApertura turns that intent into a bookable, local, reliable session. The first customer is an international couple, family or solo traveler who wants portraits in Athens but does not know which photographer to trust.
Built for couples who want it to go right
Travelers choose a specific photographer by style, language and real availability, see a clear total with an exact image count, and receive a private gallery within 72 hours. Three pilot packages make the promise concrete: City Moment (30 min, 15 images, €149), City Story (60 min, 35 images, €249) and Signature Walk (90 min, 55 images, €399).
Pose & Feel Confident guides — short captioned demonstrations for couples, friends, families and groups — feed a private My Shoot Board that is shared only with the booked photographer. Proposals get a backup photographer, a location plan and a coordinated timeline. A customer may decline any pose, contact or public use without losing the service.
Fair for photographers, useful for partners
Photographers keep their style and their credit: named portfolios with social links, qualified bookings, calendar sync, payments, galleries, invoicing and incident support. A 22% commission is disclosed before a slot goes live, ranking is never sold, and most of every booking — €171.60 of a €220 example session — stays with the creative. An optional €29/month Pro plan adds a booking link, calendar integration and more portfolio space.
Boutique hotels, proposal planners, honeymoon agents and date-experience apps extend distribution through a concierge booking page with a disclosed referral reward paid only after the completed shoot.
Engineered for zero double bookings
The platform is a Next.js front end over a NestJS domain API with MongoDB, Redis, SQS workers, S3 and CloudFront, deployed on AWS ECS Fargate in the EU. Capacity is reserved as 15-minute slot occupancies under a unique index inside one transaction, confirmed only by a verified Stripe webhook, with a transactional outbox, idempotent handlers and a durable expiry worker so a payment can never create two owners of the same slot.
Private galleries and boards are served through short-lived signed URLs and never enter public caches; Stripe Connect handles payouts with a 48-hour issue window after delivery.
